| The Spinnaker Tower at Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth was opened in 2005. It stands about 170 metres above Portsmouth Harbour and the Solent. The shape is based on a type of sail called a spinnaker (Wikipedia). There three viewing platforms at the top of the tower. The top platform, the Crow's Nest, is open to the air with a wire mesh roof . The glass floor on the bottom platform is the largest in Europe. | ||||
